It is the appearance of the outerwear modeled after “U.S. ARMY COMBAT TROPICAL COAT” a.k.a. “JUNGLE FATIGUE JACKET”
that was made as combat uniform for tropical regions in the Vietnam War era from CHESAPEAKE'S.
JUNGLE FATIGUE JACKET had been used in the U.S. Army for about 10 years since 1963.
The model this time is the “5th model” that was used from 1969 to 1970, and the specifications differ little by little depending on the year and this is the JUNGLE FATIGUE that faithfully reproduced the last model.
The fabric used is made of cotton ripstop that emphasizes functionality as a military item
so it has both strength and quick-drying properties, making it a suitable piece to throw on quickly from spring to summer or even fall.
It has large pockets on the chest and waist, and drain holes below the pockets.
Basically, it is almost the same as the 4th, but the 5th is a simpler model with the omission of the triangular gusset at the cuffs.
