Boys Market's original shirts have arrived again this year.
This time too, we'll be using deadstock fabrics that we found at the factory.
The fabric used is deadstock fabric from Getzner, a long-established Austrian shirt fabric manufacturer that is very famous for its shirt fabrics.
Getzner fabric has a unique texture and a three-dimensional, uneven feel.
The material is not a sturdy Oxford fabric, but rather an airy and soft Oxford fabric, making it a very comfortable garment to wear.
The multi gingham check pattern, using three colors—white, blue, and navy—can be worn in a wide range of styles, from casual to jacket and suit.
The details, such as the use of flat-felled seams from the sleeves to the armpits and armholes, give the garment an elegant feel, and the extremely narrow 3mm seam allowance is a testament to the factory's high level of technical skill.
The buttons on the collar and cuffs are attached using a threaded construction, making them easy to fasten and unfasten—a testament to the attention to detail.
While many shirts these days feature only a superficial gusset, Boys Market's original shirts have the front and back hems rolled separately, and then the sides are joined together. Since this results in a raw edge at the side hem, the gusset is reinforced to create a true gusset.
